  • Create identification labels for wire and cable harnesses in harsh environments with any TE Connectivity thermal transferable printers
  • User flexibility to design custom length markers from 5mm to 3 meters using TE WinTotal software

TE Connectivity, a market leader for Identification Polyolefin Sleeves, is launching a heat-shrinkable high-performance tubing that can be used with any TE thermal transfer printer to create identification sleeves for wire and cable harnesses in harsh environments. Tubing supplied diameter ranges from 2.4mm (0.031inch) to 50.8mm (2.0inch) depending on product type.

Spooled continuous reels are useful when printing identical indents or when the user requires more flexibility on the length of the ident used. Reels are situated outside the printer on a TE universal reel holder (EC9926-000), product can be thread through a rear gap on any TE printer and follow the standard path through the printer. Cutter and perforator attachments can be used to create custom ident lengths immediately, or perforation allows the tubing to remain in a continuous format and each identification print can be easily removed.

The ‘open’ profile of the tube makes it easier to apply onto the wire and therefore reducing application time and improving productivity.

Print legibility on Identification tubing is guaranteed when using TE products in conjunction with the recommended TE software, ribbon and thermal transfer printers.

Questions to Ask During Design-In

  • What are the material requirements?
  • Does the customer need customized ident lengths?
  • Does the customer require high volume fixed / Low volume variable texts?
  • Has the customer then considered the cost in operations between using a ladder format (SCE) product compared to a continuous tube format (CT)
